Meet Melina Mistral

Praised for her elegant and powerful dancing, respected for her pedagogy and dedication to teaching, Melina is a versatile dancer who can both lead and follow.

Based in Montreal, she regularly travels to the Americas and Europe to give workshops and performances, either alone or partnering with several teachers, including Veronica Toumanova, Jorge Olguin, Ney Melo, Phi Lee, Leandro Haeder, and also djing. Melina draws on her pre-tango (and current) practice of martial arts and sport, as well as ballet and Pilates, for her knowledge of the body.

Recently, her "Take the Lead" workshops for followers who want to learn to lead, and "Follow up" workshops for leaders who want to learn to follow have been very successful internationally.
